The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission is an independent agency established to improve the quality and safety of NDIS services and supports.
The Commission works with NDIS participants and their families, service providers, workers and the community to implement a nationally consistent approach across Australia.The consistent approach will ensure all participants can access services and supports that promote choice, control and dignity.
As with the NDIS, the commission commenced operating in throughout Australia on different dates.
From 1 July 2019, the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission commenced operating in the Australian Capital Territory, the Northern Territory, Queensland, Tasmania and Victoria.
From 1 December 2020, the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission will commence operating in Western Australia, providing national consistency by 2021.
